A fine folding flintlock blunderbuss


dating: 18th Century provenance: North Italy, Smoothbore, two-stage barrel, octagonal at the fist part with frames at the edges and with a silver trophy in bas-relief at the base, then round after rings and with a thickening oval-shaped nozzle. Tang outlined at the edges. The lock is slightly carved with floral motifs, a brass mounts with remains of silver plating and signed 'P. MOTINO' at the centre of the lock-plate; wooden full stock with brass mounts decorated with floral motifs, the butt-plate and the shield on the back (above the opening button) decorated with silver elements in bas-relief, the butt-plate has two trophies, one above and the other one is at the rear side with a central mask. Horn-tipped wooden ramrod and iron cartridge extractors. length 88.5 cm.
