RARE STAFFORDSHIRE PEARLWARE PINK LUSTRE AND ENAMEL-DECORATED BLUE-GROUND JUG AND COVER, ATTRIBUTED TO THE SHORTHOSE FACTORY, CIRCA 1820. Sprigged on either side with putti engaged in bacchanalian pursuits and under the spout with the 'Angel of Death come a Cropper' in colored enamels on a blue ground within pink lustre borders, the neck surrounded by a ribbon border. Together with a Staffordshire pink lustre and enamel-decorated mug sprigged with allegorical scenes on a taupe ground. Heights 4 1/4 and 3 inches. (2)
