Walt Disney (1901-1966) pencil signed autograph, ‘To Gina, Best Wishes, Walt Disney’, with printed text verso, 12.5cm x 16.5cm. The present lot was obtained by Gina Pirani whilst travelling on the Cunard White Star Line Queen Elizabeth in December 1946, included are three printed copies of the passenger lists showing both Gina and Walt Disney on the lists. With signed typed letter of provenance: “In early December 1946, I travelled with my mother and my brother on the Queen Elizabeth from England to New York. I was 12 years old and my name was Gina Pirani. I think my family was travelling second class but we did have access to the first class lounge. One evening I saw Walt Disney in that lounge. Encouraged by my mother I asked him for his autograph. He was very friendly and agreed. I think he had been participating in a "racing game" and he used a piece of paper to do with that game on which to write his autograph".
